The payment website is not working as many of you know. To complete final payment, you will have to call the Hawaii Travel company at 1-800-859-5969 and give payment authorization over the phone either by credit card or electronic bank check just like you would on the website. They will be in the office in Hawaii today now thru 8:30pm EST and tomorrow (FRI) 2pm-8pm EST. If you cannot meet this payment cutoff time, you need to call them and make arrangements with them. For a late fee of $50, the deadline can be extended. Katie and Bianca are ready and waiting for your calls.
Reminder that the final payment for the Disney Trip is due this Friday, January 22nd. If you are not paid in full or will not be able to be by Friday, I suggest that you call Bianca at Hawaii State Tours at 1-800-589-5969 and discuss your options. Bianca's email is [email protected]. Thanks!
Reminder that there is a pep band performance Friday, January 15th at MHS. Call time is 7pm in the band room. All students should wear their green band shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes. We will be playing pep music from the marching season.
Attention Disney-goers!
As our Disney trip inches nearer, please be sure to keep up on your payments! As of yesterday, I was informed that there are 31 participants who have only paid the minimum $150 deposit. At this point, the airline seats are confirmed, so if anyone cancels after December 11 there will be a cancellation fee of $550! Please try to keep as current as possible on your payments, as those help solidify our hotels, flights, and other group-rate charges, as well as avoid any late fees. We now have our flight information for our Disney Trip. After many weeks of watching flight prices stay VERY (potentially $140 more than anticipated) we were able to make a deal for a single flight for our entire group of students, staff, and families who purchased the trip with us! The flight information is at the bottom. Important things to know as we move forward: 1). As mentioned, flight seat prices have remained VERY high (despite gas prices lowering) and because of this, we saw our best flight scenario at $140 OVER our budget. As it stands, we were able to get an incredible scenario with ALL of us traveling on the same flight with good flight times at only a fraction of the overage. As stated, our price was an estimated price and through the airline price freeze, we were able to come out of everything at only +$33 to our base prices. Please see the adjusted prices below. 2). As with most travel scenarios (like our Hawaii trip 2 years ago), airlines do charge for checked baggage at check-in. There is a $30 checked baggage fee for both flights, so please plan accordingly for that. As far as carry-ons, each person is allowed one personal item, but keep it small and only bring one, or it may be considered a mandatory checked bag at a $40 charge. Since the flight is so short, and in an effort to help you keep your costs down, we encourage you to try not to take anything on the plane if possible.
New Estimated Prices - (have been changed, due to $33 increase in base price) Quad - $1,232 Triple - $1,302 Double - $1,422 Single - $1,802 ($1,269 w/ 3% fee) ($1,341 w/ 3% fee) ($1,465 w/ 3% fee) ($1,856 w/ 3% fee) Cleveland Hopkins Airport - Frontier Airlines Depart - 7:05am-9:45am CLE-MCO Flight 1161 Return - 7:10pm-9:40pm MCO-CLE Flight 1164 PAYMENTS:
As of now, everyone should be paying or should have already paid their November payment(s). Below is the payment schedule, as a reminder. If you are behind on payments, we kindly ask that you do everything you can to catch up, as portions of our overall payments solidify things like Flight and Hotel bookings. Remember, these are Estimated Prices - (have been subject to change) *Please anticipate an increase in price at this point, as flight prices have been high since May/June and atypically, have not dropped. We will communicate that amount AS SOON as we have it. Payment Schedule Before 3% Convenience Fee (fee added to final payment, Jan. 15, 2016) Package Prices (reminder that ALL 9-12 participating Band students will pay the Quad Rate) Date: Amount: Quad Triple Double Single Jan. 15, 2015 $150.00 per person $150.00 $150.00 $150.00 $150.00 March 15, 2015 20% of your balance $240.00 $254.00 $278.00 $354.00 May 15, 2015 20% of your balance $240.00 $254.00 $278.00 $354.00 Aug. 15, 2015 20% of your balance $240.00 $254.00 $278.00 $354.00 Nov. 15, 2015 20% of your balance $240.00 $254.00 $278.00 $354.00 Jan. 15, 2016 Remaining Balance Due * * * * FLIGHTS: As with our trip to Hawaii, the our flight information does not become available to us until our travel agency has made their final bookings for flights. Booking the number of people we have going takes a while, to ensure that we're getting our tickets as close to the prices estimated per our contract. Once our travel agency has done everything they can to get the price as close as they can, they will book every seat and immediately give us our flight information to relay to our families. We thank you for being patient, as we wait for information on flights, as our travel agency is doing everything possible to get our trip as close to the estimated price as possible. We know that everyone needs flight details and final payment amounts and as soon as they are available to us, they will be available to you. We will be the AWAY team again at this week's playoff game in Solon, vs. Hudson HS. Call Time for Friday is 5pm. Please bring your parka, as it will be chilly.

In order to accomplish what we and our students set out to do, we need to work efficiently and effectively with our students in attendance. This year, the training and band camps weeks are being moved to the last two weeks of July, which will NOT conflict with Mayfield High School mandatory Athletic schedules. Training week and Band Camp act as our summer education, preparing us for the year. It is very important to note that we will have our most success, work to our fullest, and work with great efficiency, with everyone in attendance. In the past, when we have split time with other activities and when students have not been able to be in attendance, the Band then needs to put in even more time. To help reach our future goals, we ask for your support and cooperation with our new Band Camp schedule. Because attendance at each rehearsal, sectional, and performance is expected, we respectfully ask that everyone inputs the information from the band calendar into their personal and family calendars to ensure everyone’s attendance. As always, we will work with the Mayfield High School Athletics on splitting time for practices if there are andy overlaps in mandatory practices, once we get into August. As usual, if there is a mandatory MHS game/match/meet that overlaps with an August Band practice, students are excused from Band to go to their respective MHS sport’s game/match. To help get an early start to scheduling our fall calendar, everyone can also enter into their calendars every Wednesday, from 6:00pm-8:45pm for our weekly Evening Rehearsals, starting on Aug. 17. If you did NOT receive a copy of this calendar at the end of September, please see the 2016-2017 Summer Calendar for full details.
Please visit the Bandnanza Winners page (above) for daily drawing winners!!!
Now that Concert Band has started, there will be NO MORE WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRACTICES! All of our students have now been filtered into our 3 concert bands: 9th Grade Concert Band (directed by Dr. Mary Alice Bright), Symphonic Band (directed by Mr. Brian Fancher), and Wind Ensemble (directed by Mr. Nathan Oshaben). Please see the Band Calendar for Concert Dates and print out the Concert Band Grading document. The MHS Varsity Football team is now in Playoffs! All Band members are expected to participate in each game. The first game is this Friday, at Mayfield HS, at 7:30pm. Call Time will be 6:15pm. |
